Mortgage Expert Byron Enriquez Pays It Forward By Helping Millennials Break Into Real Estate Investing
Just like building a dream property requires starting from scratch, real estate investment expert Byron Enriquez is the personification of a self-made mortgage maven, launching his career from effectively nothing to his current role helping hundreds to achieve their investing goals.
Enriquez is the CEO of JSS Financial, a Los Angeles-based investment lending firm that offers its services to everyone from business professionals to aspiring millennial homeowners. He has more than 20 years of experience in finance, with 15 of those focused on real estate.
When he surveys today’s thriving real estate sector, he sees that many millennials, in particular, continue to struggle to break into the market. They might not have the opportunity to invest because of their personal or financial backgrounds, or some lenders might scoff at the idea that this generation is truly ready to get started on the journey of property investment.

It might seem like a fantasy for someone who as a child knew little about mortgages and property investments, but it becomes an easily believable reality when looking at Enriquez’s work ethic. He says he caught the financial “bug” around the age of 12 when helping his father translate loan documents, and that simple act can be traced all the way to his current role leading one of the most successful property investment firms in the United States.
Some people would be happy to rest on their own meteoric rise, but Enriquez reiterates that the true joy comes with making sure people, especially Latinos and millennials, are also given the ability to achieve their goals if they’re also willing to put in the commitment and hard work. “I’ve always had a passion for educating people on how to create wealth,” he says.
Taking a step beyond educating people, he launched JSS Capital, a real estate investment fund, to give millennials and under-served people the opportunity to break into real estate investing, regardless of their financial status. Although investing in a property is a great, high-yielding leap into creating income through real estate, what of the people that are driven to get their start, but don’t have the funds or even time to get in on these opportunities?
JSS Capital allows people to buy into a “share” of property (collectively providing the funds to buy it as a whole), and helps aspiring investors create passive income without having to overcome the obstacles of finances, renovation, and management all on their own.
“I know what it’s like to have almost no opportunity to get into the world of buying and flipping properties. I had to start out as an absolute beginner and work my way up,” says Enriquez. “But I had some great mentors and I truly applied myself, and the rewards have been worth it. I want to pay it forward by making sure anyone can succeed in real estate, no matter who they are.”
