Entrepreneurship

Randy Ponce: This Entrepreneur Has His Eyes Set On Future Generations

Among the numerous career choices in the world, being an entrepreneur continues to capture the hearts and minds of individuals around the world. There is no denying the attraction of entrepreneurship: control, freedom, higher income and a strong sense of fulfilment.

Randy Ponce, is one of those entrepreneurs. Currently, he manages three businesses and has chased the dream of being an entrepreneur since as long as he can remember.  When he was just fourteen years old, he saw how his friends’ families had enough time and funds to travel around the world and purchase new items, but he couldn’t afford it. Instead of forming jealousy or resentment, he was inspired.

“The people around me that were their boss had control over their time, could choose when they worked, and always had their kids and family around. They could take vacations and buy things they wanted. I knew that this was something that I wanted for myself: the freedom and the lifestyle.”

His Early Career

Although Randy had his eyes set on becoming an entrepreneur, his professional career started as a breakdancer and DJ, which became his source of livelihood. He found some success in this industry. But knew he had to follow his passion. As a result, he put dancing to the side and focused solely on building his businesses.

He now owns an investment real estate firm, a roofing company, and a solar company. However, he found his initial success in the wireless (phone) industry. “My first business that took off was my wireless stores. I was in the wireless industry from 2005 till 2016. I opened up one location with some capital that I borrowed from my father-in-law, about $5,000, and from there catapulted and ended up with 38 brick and mortar locations nationwide and 11 mall locations.”

Once the market started to shift, a lot of the prepaid started to take over like Cricket, Metro, and AT&T. Randy owned the AT&T franchise, Cricket franchise, T-Mobile franchise, and Metro PCS franchise during those times.

Three Different Industries, But One Strategy

Although, his companies seem a bit random, Randy has made all of his business decisions with a strategic purpose. ”I try to meet a specific need with my businesses. For example, everyone needs a phone, so a wireless store made a lot of sense.” This logic guides his other business ventures as well. For roofing, he saw there was a large demand and he wanted to help fill out the space. When he opened his solar company, he wanted to make a positive impact on future generations by helping bring clean energy. And his latest venture, real estate investing is a bit more personal. “I joined the real estate world to build generational wealth for my kids and their future kids.”

Randy Prince is a serial entrepreneur who is based out of… in addition to his solar and roofing company, he owns a very lucrative chain of wireless stores and has most recently launched a real estate investing company. Currently, he is focused on building his businesses and helping create a better world for future generations. You can learn more about him by visiting his website or following him on social media.
