Roam Wild Adventure, the First of its Kind to Offer Completely Destination Conscious Outdoor Adventures

Roam Wild Adventure lovingly hosts well-thought-out, destination conscious adventures in Tanzania. Unlike booking a simple trip on a popular site, Helen Soto and her team have constructed itineraries that empower the traveler as well as the area they are traveling to.
With Roam Wild Adventure, travelers can do things they never thought possible, like safely climbing the tallest mountain in Africa, Mt. Kilimanjaro. The Kilimanjaro itineraries involve a multi-day trek up the mountain to ensure that all participants properly adjust to the oxygen levels at such great heights. The trek culminates in a sunrise arrival at the summit, where hikers spend time taking in the sights and descending the mountain for the rest of the day.
The group also offers multi-day safari tours where travelers can spot animals from over 25,000 species, a bucket list item for many! They also offer yoga and wellness-focused tours and volunteer-focused tours and charity climbs.
The Roam Wild Adventure Way
Helen Soto founded Roam Wild Adventure after a charity climb on Mt. Kilimanjaro for a local girl’s school. At the same time, she learned of a boarding house for estranged children in the area that was educating orphans and giving them futures with Harvard and Cambridge educations. Seeing and experiencing what little it took to help lift the city from poverty, she decided to get involved by helping the area while simultaneously helping people achieve heights they had never dreamed of. Helen shared, “That just hit me so hard. And I just felt like, “This is what I want to do!”
Today, Roam Wild Adventure and its participants sustainably support the economy of Tanzania while fulfilling personal goals. First, participants are sent to hotels that are certified as travel sustainable. They are also working towards obtaining membership with the Kilimanjaro Porters Association Project (KPAP) and are adhering to the guidelines KPAP has established . KPAP is the leading organization in the area providing assistance to local porters to ensure they are paid fair wages and treated ethically on treks.
Roam Wild Adventure further supports the porter community by donating gently used hiking gear left by travelers and from gear drives they hold in the US. Their safaris operate off the same principles; Helen is looking to acquire electric safari vehicles but uses the most fuel-efficient ones she can lease today.
The business prides itself on its strategic partnerships, which purposefully align with sustainable travel. One recent partnership they made is with Tomorrow’s Air, a CO2 sequestering project that removes carbon from the air and deposits it underground. In conjunction with Climeworks, Roam Wild Adventure travelers can donate any amount to the carbon capture project and Roam Wild Adventure will match the donation at 100%. They also plan to form partnerships with wildlife conservation groups in the near future to ensure that animals around the world are safe from extinction and endangerment.
As you can see, Roam Wild Adventure is more than your average adventure vacation provider. They work directly with the community of Tanzania to make positive environmental and economic contributions to the area. Over the two years Roam Wild Adventure has been operating, they have brought an immense sense of accomplishment and joy to adventurers and the community, and plan to expand to other countries soon.
Kilimanjaro trek and safari participants consistently rave about the expert guides, friendly culture, the personal difficulties they have overcome, and Roam Wild Adventure’s social and climate-conscious approach. Roam Wild Adventure treks and safaris are perfect for individuals, groups, and corporate volunteer events. Find out more about the most popular Lemosho Route Mt. Kilimanjaro trek on their website.
