How Robert Tuzzo Became One of the Leading Influences in Real Estate Education

Up until 2014, Robert had spent over 15 years as an expert in the real estate market, absorbing numerous insights and experiences that would shape the course that is so successful today. A large part of what sparked this endeavor is twofold: One, a strong desire to give back to the community and market that fueled his passions, and two, a strong desire to fix the inefficient transactional practice of a growing number of emerging real estate professionals. 

Leading up to his creation of NY School of Real Estate, Robert had begun to notice that certain transactions and day to day business operations had become increasingly slower than he believed necessary. A number of factors played into this fact, such as the growing complexities of the market, the number of increased number of personnel used in certain situations, and other side effects of the modern age. But Robert, identified one key component that he saw attributed to the failure of efficient transactions: a lack of sufficient educational resources. 

In Robert’s experience, the popular educational resources at the time consisted of barebones schooling and enormous conferences that only interacted with surface level, ineffective methods of education. With NY School of Real Estate, he hoped to give back to the underserved real estate community by not just providing a centralized group of information, but also developing classes and programs across the board that would better equip real estate professionals in the field. 

A large part of this immediate success came from the organization’s involvement with Triple Play, one of the largest real estate conferences in the country. There, the group promoted an educational resource that was not only widely accessible, but also served as a central resource for a wide variety of necessary information on efficient real estate practices. It was a success throughout the conferences, reaching thousands of people over a span of a year. 

Fast forward to 2020, Robert’s organization has helped over 30,000 real estate professionals in the area while also writing courses for local boards and beyond. Yet as the pandemic became a dominant force in more ways than one, Robert knew his organization had to adapt. 

Transitioning to online training, the group began to see immediate success as an influx of hungry clients looked to Robert as a resource to sharpen their tools while at home. A significant number of people saw this as an opportunity of self improvement and education, causing the service to increase to over 3,000 real estate professionals a week.

Even with a more significant transition to remote learning, Robert aimed to provide an intimate, complex, yet accessible hub of information for as many people as possible. With these online courses, he targeted major areas of education vital for success in the market. This included subjects such as understanding credit, the mortgage process from a to z, mortgage qualifications, appraisals and how values are determined, rehab loans, how primary and secondary markets work, and other important areas of the market. 

Yet even as the online services are set to serve 150,000 professionals by the end of the year, Robert began pushing for another innovation in line with his real estate educational efforts, this time keenly focused on the most modern practices of the industry. 

As real estate business has become increasingly digital, so too has the necessity of a digital presence for all real estate professionals looking to grow their business in the modern age. By now, with major organizations conducting business completely online, most understand this, but still struggle to make the transition or find accessible resources. Robert had already infused many of his other online services with various social media and digital marketing resources, but he was looking to take it a step forward. 

With this in mind, Robert birthed the idea of Digital Blueprint, an educational platform that would ease this transition by helping real estate professionals become more aware and more in control of their digital footprint and online impact. 

Recently, the group launched a test run consisting of a 50 person, 90 day pilot program that would introduce hungry professionals into a community stocked full of resources that will assist in growing their online presence. The program provided constant, 1 on 1 interaction, frequent Q and A’s, webinars and interviews with social media and digital marketing professionals, and a variety of other resources. He envisions this platform to serve in the same way he always intended with NY School of Real Estate, as a valuable resource for a community hungry for education. 

Apart from NY School of Real Estate, Robert currently maintains the position of Vice President for the northeast division of Cross Country Mortgage, one of the largest privately owned mortgage banks in the country.
