S2, E24 Tal Man Survives Her Deadly Disease To Disrupt The Jewelry Industry #convoswithliana

Self-made entrepreneur, talented jeweler and public figure Tal Man was born and raised in Israel. At the age of 16 she began an international modeling career, and after completing her two-year service in the Military Police Investigations unit of the IDF, she was chosen to host the most popular prime-time TV show, the Israeli version of Wheel of Fortune, at age 21.

Following Wheel of Fortune, Tal embarked on a successful career as a TV host, actress, reporter, and column writer for the Israeli Yediot Ahronot publication, that spanned 20 years. As an extreme sports fan Tal produced 14 independent films about the extreme sports world, and she herself took 3rd place in Israel’s wake-boarding championship in 2008.

In 2004 Tal graduated from the Shenkar College of Engineering, Design and Art and fell in love with jewelry design. She opened her own workshop and studio in Israel, which she ran alongside her career as a public figure.
Her daughters, Lia and Yali, were born in 2011 and 2015 respectively. In late 2017, Tal co-founded Talia Jewelry with her partner in life and the father of her daughters, Ronen Berka. Talia is an innovative concept in the jewelry market, inviting consumers to participate in the design process of the jewelry they will wear.

In June, 2018, Tal was diagnosed with advanced stage cervical cancer. She fought and won two aggressive battles with the cancer over 18 months, all the while working on founding and creating a project to support women who survived cervical cancer. She designed a pendant with the words “Health and Happiness”, using the sales revenue to open a clinic in Sheba Tel Hashomer Hospital.

After her first clear PET scan in 2019 Tal decided to follow her dreams and race against time to make them come true. She and Ronen opened Talia’s first pop-up shop in Manhattan in November 2019, where she’s currently working on growing her brand and speaking about her survival story.
