Not only does she provide legal services, but Gohar Abelian also teaches it to other people. She was a professor at a law school where she provided students with helpful tips and advice on passing the bar exam to further their careers. Her goal is to empower people like herself to get into the legal field and have success. “The legal field still lacks diversity, but my goal is to educate others interested in law so that they can find their specialty, pass the bar, and do what they love for a living,” shared Abelian. “When I was younger, I didn’t realize what it meant to be a minority. I lived in a fairly diverse area, so I never thought about it much. It wasn’t until later in life that I realized being a woman or a minority in the United States isn’t always ideal. The odds are often against us, but I want to break those barriers down and show people they can do what they love if they believe in themselves enough.”

While the Abelian Law Firm continues to grow fast because it has such a solid foundation built on integrity, social justice, and compassion for others, Gohar Abelian always makes sure to make time to teach at a law school.  “The law school that allows me to work with students aims to promote more public interest while creating social justice warriors ready to fight for their clients. I know that we need more of these legal professionals in the industry, so I’m putting in the time and effort to teach them everything I know,” shared Abelian. “I know that law school isn’t easy. When I was attending law school, I experienced numerous challenges that made it more difficult to get through it all, but I don’t want other people to experience that. So, not only am I helping the clients who come to me when they need help with various legal situations, but I’m also helping students who want to succeed despite any obstacles.”

Recognized as a leading light in the courtroom and at the law school where she offers professional legal guidance as a professor, Gohar Abelian has much to offer. She’s a passionate legal professional with the drive to tackle multiple projects simultaneously, giving each one her all. When she isn’t practicing law or teaching it to others, she’s spending quality time with her children, taking full advantage of the memories she gets to make with them.
