The Incredible Designer Joshua Explains What Makes JJones Design Co. Stand Out from the Rest

The gifted interior designer, Joshua Jones, runs a successful e-design studio known as JJones Design Co. where he offers interior design and decorating services. His business mainly provides local and international customers with boutique and customized online services.
While explaining how he started his company, Joshua said that he faced discrimination because of his Deafness early in his career. Everywhere he went, the response was essentially the same: people were worried more about his hearing problem than they were about the quality of his work.
As a Deaf individual, Jones faced a lot of obstacles and discrimination at work. “I have found that all the design/architecture firms I interviewed with were more interested in how we would communicate than in what I had to offer and how we would work well together,” he explained.
However, these adverse situations transformed Jones into the successful entrepreneur he is today. He describes the frustration that accompanied each of these situations. JJones Design Co. was created after his partner, Jeffry Kahle, came up with an amazing solution for his Deafness. Because of his Deafness, his partner suggested he start an e-commerce business to help clients decorate and design their spaces online. Thus, he will be able to connect with people both domestically and internationally.
Jones further explains how his studio is different from the rest in the market. First, in comparison to other e-design platforms, he said “They only work with vendors that they are partnered with and do not want to work with small and local suppliers as I do for my e-design clients. If my clients request that I work with any vendor, I will use them for their e-design project.”
Secondly, after the e-design project is finished, “I am still available to assist my clients with any questions they have during the setup if they need anything or need alternatives just in case some items are out of stock or become obsolete.” Lastly, “I always hold my clients’ hands (virtually) during the project progress and support them.”
Jones explained that his dedication and personal interactions with his client have definitely contributed a lot to his success. Being among the pioneers of e-design studios, Jones happened to learn a lot from his interactions with his clients.
In his words, “When I started, many people weren’t familiar with the workings of e-design and how it could benefit them. I had to teach them all about e-design. While going through this process, I learned a lot about what works and doesn’t work, and I improved my business by taking into consideration the feedback I received from my clients and colleagues.”
Jones further shares, “It was a challenging journey at the beginning. Nevertheless, after years of trying and patience, I finally got the result I wanted for my business. My business grew steadily once I figured that out, and I began appearing in magazines, blogs, and on social media.”
