This Ottawa VP’s Passionate Approach to Real Mortgage Solutions

Tony Madi’s interest in real estate began at home. Conversations over meals and evening chats often revolved around market fluctuations, rates, prices, and locations. “Growing up in a real estate-oriented family,” he says, “when this topic came up, it was like we slipped into another language—I realized early on that this would be a lifelong passion.” “Real-estate” is Madi’s fourth language; he also happens to be fluent in English, French, and Persian.

Another important aspect of Madi’s youth was his residential and commercial property management involvement—first, with his family’s portfolio, and later, managing his own. His intuitive understanding and passion for property led him to purchase into the real estate market at just 22 years old. He also completed his Science degree at the University of Arizona and began working in the heavy civil engineering industry, primarily focusing on bridge construction and deep foundations. His infrastructure work spanned Canada and the U.S. “It presented a real challenge, balancing work and family life, especially because I was flying to different cities every week,” Madi explains. Family, for Mr. Madi, is high priority, as is having multiple streams of income; this is why he has always kept up with thriving real estate markets, staying on top of current trends and volatility.

“When opportunity presents itself, you analyze it. Once you can see how all the pieces fit, you act,” Mr. Madi says, speaking of his recent career advancement, which allows him to leverage his real estate savvy. Positioned as the VP of Production at a leading modular construction company, Mr. Madi has engaged his extensive network of Ottawa real estate investors, entrepreneurs, and developers. His work in this innovative industry, which produces residential, commercial, and institutional buildings, keeps him emersed in real-time market motion, with firsthand knowledge of fluctuations, trends, and key opportunities. His executive position allows him to invest more time in his passionate pursuit—getting those who seek lending into mortgages they can afford and understand.

While Covid has brought countless challenges, Mr. Madi feels this is prime time for investors to engage with the real estate market. When asked about the impact of Covid, Madi took a long pause before delivering his reflective answer. “Covid gave me a chance to slow down, reassess my priorities, and choose the pathway that was right for me. Assessment—it’s the same approach I employ with my clients, you know. Life gets busy, and it can be a struggle, but a mortgage is a serious consideration. You need someone who’s not going to rush the process, someone who’s going to be strategic. One of the most important things Covid highlighted for a lot of people is that a single stream of income is often no longer sufficient. What I do is provide a service that allows an additional, passive income stream—Covid really showed the importance of this, and owning property is one of the soundest ways to avoid the impact of inflation on your personal finances.”

His vast understanding of the market is exactly what you would expect from a science professional, resulting in a formulaic approach that creates a uniquely tailored pathway for his clients. Combined with his passion for the market, it’s plain to see how he’s taken his place on the cutting edge of real estate.

“Mortgage agents don’t work for individual lenders; they’re independent. That’s what I love—my work isn’t lender-focused, but rather, client-focused. I can offer advice on a broad range of lenders, advise on which mortgage products are going to best suit your individual needs, and explain the size of mortgage you can afford. Everyone’s situation is unique to their financial standing and needs. It’s essential to work with someone who will explore your options and find your best solution.”

From conventional mortgages and pre-approvals to refinancing, construction loans, and home equity lines of credit, Tony Madi is truly passionate about the services he provides.
