Attraction is a skill set that you can develop to attract the best people, ideas, and opportunities. Attraction is the action of investing in your soul, spirit, needs, personal foundation, life, and total well-being. It occurs as a byproduct of using and integrating the 28 Principles of Attraction. In this article, I will introduce the first 10, emphasizing Principle 4.
“I want to become whole and present, so I can effortlessly draw what I want in life without having to sell, seduce, or promote myself!”
Johan is a sales professional with whom I worked with over one year. He was thirty years old with a wife and three young children. He was a successful guy, but not incredibly happy doing what he was doing. He decided to work with me to discover the reason for his dissatisfaction and frustration.
Our playful coaching conversations revealed that his income depended on his sales and that he was constantly under pressure to promote, push, and seduce his potential and established customers to buy. He was driven by adrenaline, a powerful energy source, but it made him tired and drained.
The first action was to shift him from adrenaline to his reserves. In Johan’s case, this meant getting results faster and earlier instead of pushing at the last minute. As a result, he started to under-commit and over-deliver to get ahead of the curve and get his juice from surplus production instead of playing catch-up.
Johan began to add and maintain a high reserve of clients and sales opportunities, 10-100% more than he estimated necessary to reach his monthly target. I gave him the tools and language he needed to sell his product, and he quickly learned to articulate the features, benefits, and values simply.
Johan also became an expert in his product and any problems faced by his market, providing service to his customers/prospects vs. just selling. He called his most loyal customers, asked what they were most interested in learning about, and designed a workshop around that. He announced it through his newsletter and called people to inform them of the event without pressuring them to come. The response was tremendous!
This attraction-based action focused on adding value, responding to client’s needs, and learning from existing customers propelled his sales. The continuous and consistent act of maintaining a reserve has shifted him to a place where he is fully present without worry and concern. His fear has diminished, the quality of his work life has improved, and he has increased his sense of ease. The last stretch for him was to set up a referral generation program that has led him to a super reserve of sales opportunities.
Centering your life around attraction
To center your life around attraction, you need to let go of the future and most goals, upgrade your source of motivation, eliminate blockage and draining sources, become fully present and upgrade your relationships. And you can do it all by practicing and integrating the following principles:
Become incredibly selfish—not self-centered, but self-caring. To fully offer yourself to others, you must take care of yourself first. Selfishness affords supreme generosity.
Unhook yourself from the future—become 99% oriented in the present. Let go of “should” and “could” goals. Make all decisions based on today, not projections. Replace striving with enjoyment.
Respond to every event—make every event an opportunity, even if it starts with a problem.
Build energy reserves in all areas—with reserves, fear disappears. Reserves provide room for creativity. Reserves reduce what is draining you.
Add value just for the joy of it—discover what you totally love to do. Adding value provides value to you, and money floods in.
Affect others profoundly—have a message and share it. Totally accept the feelings people have. Be true to yourself.
Market your talents—distinguish talents from skills. Distinguish marketing from promotion, be a model of what you are offering.
Become attractive to yourself—eliminate whatever you do or have that is not attractive to you. Disconnect from the expectations of others.
Build a fulfilling life, not just an impressive lifestyle—let go of trappings, possessions, roles, clothes, and goals that no longer represent who you are and want to be. Identify what nourishes you. Spend 100% of your time with those who empower and energize you.
Promise a little, and deliver everything—under commit as a habit. Design a life where promises aren’t necessary. Distinguish between delivering and doing.
These are only the first 10 Principles to help get you started on your personal path of attraction. To begin with, explore what it means to be attractive to yourself and others. Attraction is designed to achieve rapid self-development. Enjoy the ride!
