22 year old Arizona singer-songwriter Aspen Sawyer has been making people all over the world fall in love with her unique sound. As a self-proclaimed mutt of the music industry, her songs are a personalized mix of pop, alternative, and r&b. “I’ve always known that I was meant to entertain people and make music. I’ve been through a lot in life so I try to put my emotions, experiences, and feelings into my music to help heal myself and others. I think it’s important to not only have uplifting songs that help you push through hard times but to also have sad songs so you can allow yourself to feel and process those emotions.
That’s the only way you will actually be able to move past rough patches. It’s actually healthy to cry it out to a sad song that you relate to and then cheer yourself up with an upbeat banger. That’s why I make songs for it all. I’m not trying to copy any specific style of music or anything, I just do me and make music that is real and that’s what makes me stand out as an artist” she shares.
“I remember when I was around 3 years old and I started singing Disney songs around the house and that’s when I really fell in love with singing. From then on I knew I wanted to do it professionally. Anyone I went to school with could tell you I always talked about how I was going to be a pop star. I will always remember who believed in me and who didn’t. It wasn’t until I was 20 that I actually realized I was really talented in writing songs as well. That’s when I started putting stuff out and I won an award for the first song I ever made because it was featured in a movie that then went to a film festival. That was a really exciting moment for me and gave me the encouragement I needed to keep going. I make music that I love and if other people enjoy it too that’s fantastic. I’m just barely getting started.”
Sawyer’s music can be heard on all platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, and iTunes. Are you as excited as us to hear more from her soon?
