Women Who Disrupt

What Life Events Inspired Destinee Garcia To Start A Business And Learn Important Values

Life is hardly ever predictable. Even though we think we know what will happen in the future, unexpected circumstances occur which often teach significant lessons that make us into better people.

Through the events that happened in her life, Destinee Garcia saw an opportunity for her to take new chances and learn relevant values that will guide her through life.

A Pregnancy That Launched A Career

“I am the creator and founder of Pure Skin, a natural skincare cosmetics company. Besides my flourishing business, I am a digital creator and social media manager,” Destinee said.

Pure Skin was created in 2020. It produces specially formulated essential products that heal and soothe skin while amplifying the appearance and restoring a natural glow. The brand aims to have each user feeling rejuvenated and satisfied with the smooth feeling and glowing image of their skin.

But before Pure Skin came to fruition, Destinee had to go through a life-changing event that gave her the role of mother and, eventually, entrepreneur.

“Pure Skin came to mind due to my pregnancy and postpartum. I felt so uncomfortable with my skin after seeing my stretch marks and hyperpigmentation, which inspired me to create products for women so they could feel beautiful within their pure skin,” Destinee shared.

Motivated by helping others feel better about themselves, Destinee’s Pure Skin offers various products such as body butters, glitter butters, facial toners, bath bombs, and more to make sure that consumers can find the right product.

An Accident That Taught Her A Lot

Other than her pregnancy inspiring her to start a business, life has also taught Destinee several important lessons. But learning relevant values did not come easy as the owner of Pure Skin had to go through an ordeal.

“In 2018, I was involved in a traumatic car accident which resulted in me being in a coma for 7 days and having a fractured frontal lobe brain injury,” she said.

The accident put Destinee’s life on hold for a while.Yet in that trying time, she understood and practiced the value of patience and faith. Adding therapy into the mix has also helped her get back on her feet and ready to work towards her goals.

Destinee said that her goal in life is to always do things with love and continue spreading positivity within the community. She plans to expand her business and promote diversity.

She also plans on becoming a certified life coach so she can leave a bigger impact on more people’s lives.
