There is no universal best time to post on TikTok. The only way to verify which time works best for your content is by checking your analytics. Look at the performance of your posts at different times and use that data to inform your posting schedule. This way, you can make sure you’re maximizing engagement on your videos and getting the most out of TikTok.

Between 7 PM and 11 PM

Based on my experience, the hours between 7 PM and 11 PM are the best times to reach a wide and engaged audience on TikTok. This time frame is a peak usage period for TikTok users, particularly among younger audiences who are more likely to be active on the platform during their leisure time in the evenings. 

By posting during this window, a business may have a greater chance of standing out and capturing the attention of users who are scrolling through their feeds in the evening. We also achieve the most shares by posting during this window.

Determining the best time to post on TikTok requires a personalized approach considering several factors. These factors include your target audience, the type of content you share, and your geographic location. Since the best time to post may differ depending on your target audience and their behavior on the platform, no specific time works for everyone.

Analyzing and taking a step referring to the insight of your actual and potential followers will maximize your reach and engagement on the platform: One way to do this is to switch to a business account; go to the three-line icon on your Profile section, tap Manage Accounts from the Settings section, and then select Switch to Business Account. 

After transferring to the business account, you’ll access the analytics, and there are Overview, Content, Followers, and Live tabs in the Analytics. From the Followers tab, you can get accurate data on what time and day your followers are active on TikTok.

Scrolling Prime Time

TikTok is the epitome of scrolling before bed, and many people will spend an hour or two before sleeping looking through hundreds and hundreds of videos. Meaning, yours will have the potential to be seen by millions, so even if it feels like an out-of-office-hour approach, it is still great to have your videos landing around the time people are scrolling.

Ideally, you want to launch videos early evening to give them time to get more traction by the hours the most significant audience is on. Aiming for between a 6 PM to 8 PM publishing schedule should mean that by prime 10 till 11 PM scrolling, your video has gotten some attention and made it to the FYP (for you page) algorithms.

I Still Don’t Understand Why, but It’s Friday Evening

For the past three months, we’ve jumped back on TikTok, trying to skyrocket. Although, our account didn’t reach the key objectives we had at the beginning. However, I noticed the tendency to get excellent results when posting every Friday evening. From many articles I read on the internet, and after talking to TikTok experts, I was sure that Friday was the okay-ish day to post, but definitely not in the evening. 

To my surprise, over 75% of our well-performing videos were posted on Friday evenings around 6-8 p.m. 

My best guess is that people plan their work week accordingly to have Friday as the “light” day, meaning there are not too many meetings or complex and long tasks. This way, later in the day, people scroll social media channels more.

Hootsuite’s Experiment Uncovers Best Times to Post

TikTok is a global platform with users from different time zones, so it’s important to understand your audience’s behavior and posting habits to maximize engagement. Hootsuite, after conducting experiments and analyzing 30,000 posts, has determined that Thursday at 7 PM is the ideal time to post on TikTok for maximum engagement.

According to their findings, there are several optimal posting times, including Monday at 10 PM, Tuesday at 9 AM, Wednesday at 7 AM, Thursday at 7 PM, Friday at 3 PM, Saturday at 11 AM, and Sunday at 4 PM. 

These timings were based on their analysis of user behavior and posting habits on the platform. It’s important to keep in mind that the best time to post can vary depending on your specific audience and their geographic location.

Depends on the Audience

It depends entirely on your audience. For most people, the peak hours for TikTok engagement are from 6 to 10 PM on weekdays and from 9 AM to 12 PM on weekends. But, for example, younger people are likely to be on it all day, whereas professionals may only get on for a brief window after work, say from 5 to 7 PM.
