Backstory
Leruo Theledi exemplifies the Strong Modern Lifestyle Entrepreneur. A simple idea in high school launched him into the social media market before the age of 20. Today, Leruo oversees a sizeable network of accounts with a reach of over 1 million followers.
The young lifestyle entrepreneur hails from Johannesburg, South Africa. Born on the 4th of October, 2000, to a middle-class family.
Leruo experienced both highs and lows as he grew up between two contrasting worlds. In this environment, Leruo discovered his own entrepreneurial spirit. At just 16, he was aiming for the stars and lost no time in starting his career. Leruo began growing some brands and selling ads on Instagram pages, as well as digital products such as eBooks, online courses, and subscription services. The business wasn’t as successful, but it was this period of trial and error that helped him find success in his later ventures.
Leruo went on to launch his own brand, and by the time he’d graduated from Elkanah House high-school, the official Lucrativ account had drawn roughly over 40,000 followers. Leruo enrolled in Entrepreneurship & Bcom Business Management at Stellenbosh University, balancing the demands of his business and education. Within 12 months, the Lucrativ account accumulated over 100K followers. Leruo collaborated with brands such as Vayner Media by GaryVee, Lanistar Bank, and About Vintage. With the growing network of affiliated accounts, Lucrativ went from zero to 226K followers, hitting 5 figures a month by 2019.
He went on to create two online courses with hundreds of students from around the world. Through this, he was able to coach new Instapreneurs as well as build a new source of revenue for his brand. By the time he had completed his second year at University, Leruo had already made over $20,000 selling his online courses to the international market.
Lucrativ SMM, his new social media agency, was launched in 2020 and has already accumulated a following of over 1M in influencer brands.
Q&A
What Inspired you To Launch Your Instagram Brand Lucrativ?
- I just wanted to have that daily inspiration not only for myself but for other people and build a brand while doing so. I always had this obsession with building something that everyone would one day get value out of – I believe anyone can live their own unique Lucrative Lifestyle.
What lead you to launch your online course?
I didn’t just want to inspire my audience, I wanted to serve and educate them through the knowledge and first-hand experience that I gained building a business from scratch at such a young age. I had a lot of people reaching out as I grew my brand and found a lot of value and fulfillment in being a funnel for their growth towards their dream audiences.
What challenges did you face in launching your business?
One of the hardest lessons I learned was that I would have to sacrifice my normal life to see growth and results in my business. This was the hardest trade-off for me and I would always find myself being on eitehr side of the coin. At some point, I felt as if I was living two lives. After a year and a half, my entrepreneurial journey became my main focus and that’s essentially how I was able to start getting results with my business model.
