Exclusive Interview: Spenzo

1.) Tell us about your background getting to where you are today?

Many people may know me from my world famous hit singles “Wifer” But I’m way more than just a single. I left Atlantic & Infared Records and started my own label. Since my start to fame back in 2014 when “Wifer” was released I’ve been gearing up to get back in the faces of the public with a new wave of music! I’m locked in more than I ever was and I’m ready for the world to get this new wave of Spenzo

2.) Where are you from?

Chicago – Englewood

3.) When did you start music?

Since I was 16 but I remember being involved in music since I was 6

4.) How did you get into music?

My mother’s husband, my step father at the time introduced me to it. From there I was able to get introduced to more avenues of music. My peers were all musically inclined and started to bring me more and more into the mix.

5.) What is the most challenging thing you have overcome in your life?

The fact that my father wasn’t around in my early childhood. This brought about challenges I had to overcome and that I still find myself battling to this day. Outside of that my Day 1 friends leaving me (Passing away)

6.) Are you currently signed or independent?

Currently Independent with my own record label “Nothing to Something LLC”

7.) Who inspires you the most musically?

As of right now A lot of local Chicago artist inspire me. The future of music doesn’t lay in the hands of mainstream artist right now. It’s more-so about the artist that haven’t been seen yet. But outside of that, if I had to name a few, it would be Drake, Kanye, Future, Gunna, Young Thug, Baby Face Ray, and Meek Mill

8.) What do you want people to take away after listening to your music?

There own experiences from what I’m saying. Ultimately people paint their own pictures – But the narrative that I paint comes from the life style that I’ve lived and the environment that cultivated my upbringing. I’m Dope af and I want my audience to appreciate that.

9.) Any new music coming out soon?

YES SIRRRR! Recently just dropped a new single on July 1st titled 28 Grams. You can expect new drops NON STOP so be on the look out

10.) What is your greatest achievement as a musician?

Having a hit record

11.) Do you produce your own music? If not, who do you work with?

A few producers I work with are TwoToneShine, Ayo, Deltah Beats, Lil Cicle, DB The Plug

12.) Who is one artist you wish you could work with?

Drake for sure

13.) Tell us about any new music you have coming out? When is it coming out? What is it about?

I’ll be releasing a up and coming project featuring nothing but the top tier drops from my archive. This project will be one of a kind and will highlight nothing but the BEST music coming from Spenzo. Be on the look out for this project in late 2022

14.) What does a day inside your shoes look like?

I wake up everyday and strive to be better than I was yesterday. If I was in the studio for 6 hours, I’d be in the studio for 7 or 8 the next day. I believe in hard work and grinding until you get what you want.

15.) Anything else you want the audience to know about you?

A lot of people I helped get put on turned their back on me. Some people aren’t here physically, some people aren’t here because they aren’t loyal. This time around, the new and improved Spenzo isn’t for any games. The team I’m with, is the team I’ll be with at the grammies. Loyalty is everything and I only want that. We making these moves regardless of who wants to see us fail. Forever turning Nothing to Something
