How DeAngelo Trent, AKA The Styliss, Became Hollywood’s Best Kept Fashion Secret

Hollywood celebrities have always been idolized for their fashion choices and style that receives recognition from all around the globe. But aside from the celebrities themselves, the credit also goes to the artists who pour their ideas and creativity into their creations.

One stylist who has earned the respect and recognition in the industry for his work is  DeAngelo Trent, popularly known as The Styliss, who has been in the business for 10 years.

Back in the mid-90s, DeAngelo was already involved with fashion. He started by selling his own t-shirts from the trunk of his car. But because of his passion for fashion and eye for style, DeAngelo went to styling celebrities in Hollywood. He assisted very successful costume designers in the fashion industry.  Such as Debra McGuire and Katja Cahill to name a few.

Since then, his career skyrocketed and allowed him to experience styling artists like H.E.R., Nick Cannon, Keyshia Cole, Serena Williams,  Jamie Fox, Akon, Jason Derulo, Nikki Minaj, Kehlani, Affion Crockett,  and more

“It happened so organically and I’ve been blessed to travel, work with the biggest names in Hollywood, and have been able to take care of my family via the fashion business,” DeAngelo said.

What Inspired Him and What Keeps Him Going

Throughout his career, DeAngelo has found inspiration in some of the young black entrepreneurs like Daymond John who created the FUBU brand.

“I have been blessed to naturally have a positive outlook on life and business and I believe that is infectious to the point where people want to be around you, work with you, and bless you,” DeAngelo said.

Now, DeAngelo is one of Hollywood’s preferred lead stylists who has worked with several celebrities in the industry.

Creating Different Streams of Income

Being a stylist to the stars isn’t the only source of income that keeps DeAngelo busy.

With his passion for fashion, DeAngelo turns to other businesses that allow him to make an income while doing what he loves.

He is also a  brand ambassador and does screen printing, embroidery, online clothing sales, thrifting, and consulting. He also does college appearances so that aspiring artists can learn from his creative mind.

And for him to grow in any area of his life, DeAngelo keeps in mind that he has to reach out and learn from others, study his craft, as well as stay faithful and honest.
