Interview With Mississippi Artist $tackz

Hi, $tackz! How are you today?

“Hi, I am doing good, and you?”

Fine, thank you. Where are you from?

“I am from Meridian, Mississippi.”

Tell us about your background getting to where you are today?

“I am a lyrical hip-hop artist from Meridian, Mississippi. I was very much fond of music growing up and started picking up the art form when I was just ten years old.”

When did you start music?

“I started music at the age of ten.”

What is your greatest inspiration for your music?

“My brother and my kids.”

What are 3 words that describe your music?

“Real, authentic, and lyrical”

How did you get into music?

“My younger brother CJ actually got me started. He actually made me record my first song, funny enough, in the closet at our home.”

What is the most challenging thing you have overcome in your life?

“I would say seeing my brother fight epilepsy every day.”

Are you currently signed or independent?

“I am currently an independent artist.”

Who inspires you the most musically?

“Lil Wayne And The Notorious B.I.G influence me the most musically.”

What do you want people to take away after listening to your music?

“I just want people to say that my music was real and that it made them feel something.”

What are the challenges of being an artist?

“The toughest challenge of being an artist by far is taking the time to sacrifice money on your career.”

What is your greatest achievement as a musician?

“I performed at The House Of Blues in New Orleans in front of 3,000 people.”

Do you produce your own music? If not who do you work with?

“I work with various producers such as DJ XO, who is a top 10 Billboard Producer.”

Who is one artist you wish you could work with?

“Honestly, I wish I could work with Lil Wayne and Chris Brown.”

What does a day inside your shoes look like?

“A day inside my shoes is CRAZY! I have 5 kids, so I can’t stop moving and providing.”

Tell us about any new music you have coming out? When is coming out? What is it about?

“My new project will release on October 5th! It is about coming home from doing a year in prison and maintaining my family at the same time! It is about coming from nothing.”\
