Hey Stafford Beats! How are you?

“I’m doing great!”

Tell us about your background getting to where you are today?

“I started producing music a little over a year after joining the military- January of 2020. I moved up to Alaska because of the military and didn’t have much to do, so I tried out a few different hobbies such as photography and digital art. I enjoyed the things I was trying out, but nothing really clicked for me. At the end of 2019, I had been talking to some friends that made music, and I was interested in learning the backend of it and see what goes into these different projects artists put out. I spent a good amount of time looking into various videos on YouTube ranging from how EDM producers work on their songs, all the way to Genius Deconstructed episodes for various hip hop songs. It seemed like a cool thing to try, and I decided to buy FL Studio and try it out for myself. I ended up loving the process and spent a ton of time trying out new genres and learning the basics until I finally decided to hone in on hip hop/melodic trap.”

Who inspires you the most musically?

“My absolute favorite artist is Blackbear. My biggest musical inspirations are Mac Miller for his raw talent and energy, Kenny Beats for his creativity and motivation, and Nick Mira for his work ethic.”

What is the most challenging thing you have overcome in your life?

“One of the biggest challenges I have overcome was sticking to one creative passion and building on it. Throughout most of my life, I’ve been in and out of so many different hobbies and potential career paths, and I would always end up trying something else or quitting. Music is the first thing that has driven me enough to stick with it and persevere throughout the highs and the lows.”

What do you want people to take away after listening to your music?

“I want people to feel inspired. I want people to be able to experience the feelings that I feel when producing the tracks.”

Are you planning on releasing new music soon?

“Later in March, I’ll be releasing another single with JXVE and Easton Wes called “Rollercoasters”. In the near future, I also plan on creating a collaboration album with a variety of artists I have been working with recently.”
