Interview With Rising Artist Specialist3ffect

Philadelphia based hip hop and r&b artist Specialist3ffect has been making music since he was 12-years-old. Along with a team of producers, Himself is focused on making their audience feel the emotions they felt while making their music. The unique sound is unlike anything we have heard before. We took a moment to interview the rising talent and discuss some things. Check out the interview below:

Tell us about your background; what has gotten you to where you are today?

Literally, it’s all about being consistent. I’ve always found a way to make music even when I didn’t have the resources. Just getting an outlet to expressing my ideas is what got me to where I am today.

Where are you from?

“I am originally from Washington D.C but currently live in Philadelphia.”

When did you start music?

“I started making music when I was 12 years old.”

What is the most challenging thing you have overcome in your life?

“The most challenging thing I had to overcome was being consistent and not caring about nonbelievers in me.”

Are you currently signed or independent?

“I am currently independent.”

Who inspires you the most musically?

“Pharrell Williams, Tyler The Creator, Miguel, Jeremiah, ASAP Rocky, Playboi Carti.”

What do you want people to take away after listening to your music?

“I want people to either reminisce about a moment in the past, dream about the future, or be present with my words and use their imagination to see/ hear/ feel what I’m describing in the song.

Any new music coming out soon?

“I have a song called, “Hot”, coming out Dec 4th. I also have more upcoming singles, EPs, and albums coming out very soon. They’ll be game-changing releases.”

What is your greatest achievement as a musician?

“My greatest achievement as a musician is simply having fans. Having people out there in the world that actually vibe with sounds that came from my mind. Shit makes me smile man.”

Do you produce your own music? If not, who do you work with?

“I produce some of my work, not all, because it’s very time-consuming. but I work with producers, Donnie Katana, Dior, Pilotkid, Kevin Katana and many more talented producers.”

Who is one artist you wish you could work with?

“Pharrell Williams hands down.”

Tell us about any new music you have coming out? When is it coming out? What is it about?

“I have a new single, “Hot” coming out on Dec 4th. It’s cuddling season so it’s definitely a late night mood type of song.”

What does a day inside your shoes look like?

“Let’s just say my days start early and end later. The grind never stops.”

Anything else you want the audience to know about you?

“I love beautiful scenes along with beautiful music. I have a dark yet bright aesthetic vibe that I believe many people could relate to. My music is human. I’m not solidified into one genre because I have different moods and love the freedom of expressing my feelings through different sounds and visuals.”
