Lisa Hoggarth Sparking Hope Anew for Fashion and Mental Health

Amid COVID-19 lockdowns, the fashion world faced a dilemma. Stay-at-home

mandates forced people to shelter in place, which meant more time in pajamas than in heels and dresses for people around the globe. Accordingly, people stopped shopping for clothing and stayed content with whatever look they sported upon waking up. But fashion icon and influencer Lisa Hoggarth believes that shouldn’t be the case as she sparks hope for fashion anew.

Lisa is a model and social media influencer who—in her words—“lights

fires.” And amid last year’s COVID-19 shutdowns in Melbourne, Australia, which would go on for four months, she might have taken those words too literally.

“I lit indoor house fires and posed in front of them.” Lisa Hoggarth recounts. “The fires were meant to be an expression for my star sign, which is Leo. Art, for others, to glance at.”

But what might seem like an audacious act was a bold statement to people that lockdowns aren’t an excuse to stop looking your best. Last year, Lisa Hoggarth started an Instagram page and movement called “Hallways Are Runways” that featured photos of the model striking poses in chique outfits in her home. At one point, she lit the fire indoors and started posing in front of them. Despite the trouble it got her into, it ignited a movement worldwide, which had fashion lovers returning to their sense of style and taste even from home.

And all these loud statements by Hoggarth come with a crucial reason. Research shows that dressing

up and putting on makeup can drastically improve one’s sense of joy and positivity. Like millions of people around the world, Lisa went through a mental battle during the lockdowns. The COVID-19 pandemic didn’t only pose a physiological health risk to people. It allowed for a psychological one too.

In response, Lisa chose to get dolled up and return to what brought her a sense of happiness.

Today, she encourages others to do the same. “Don’t get depressed eating ice cream in pyjamas all day,” exclaims the model and influencer. “Get dressed, treat your hallway like a runway and show up for the fashion industry by tagging designers and buying online.”

Lisa Hoggarth has gained a lot of traction online for “Hallways Are Runways.” And while the page got hacked and sold back in April of 2021, the movement continues. Lisa can empathize and connect with her audience. Accordingly, Lisa sets herself apart. In 2020 she caught the attention of the exclusive women’s label Bobbie and Co and the two worked together.

Through her pandemic-driven movement for mental health and fashion, she refused the notion of fashion’s doors shutting down and instead broke in with a spark of intuition to do what she could to save the industry, she also networked with Elite Model Management, which will now serve as her official handler.

Lisa looks to continue inspiring others to stay positive while constantly growing her modeling career. Learn more about Lisa Hoggarth by visiting her
