Maxine L. Johnson Teaches Successful Career Women to Pursue Their Dreams

Maxine L. Johnson is on a mission to help driven career women discover their true passion and achieve both personal and professional success. As the founder of WIFE Boss Academy as well as a renowned public speaker and coach, Johnson understands the delicate balance that exists between doing it all and getting burned out.

As a coach, it is her commitment to help women strike a more meaningful work-life balance – even while they pursue their greatest dreams.

“We all need somebody to help us,” Johnson says. “We need a safe haven and a place where we can retreat and just have the time to focus.”

For someone who is actively pursuing their dreams while also maintaining a full-time career, this can be easier said than done. Fortunately, Johnson provides helpful strategies and guidance that empower women to realize that they can pursue their passions without necessarily leaving their job.

“I think that a lot of people can relate to pursuing your passion even while you’re working on your career,” Johnson says. “Like I might be working in my career, doing what I was trained and educated to do, but out of that you sometimes tap into something you’re really great at.”

As Johnson works with her clients, she helps them discover those hidden talents and interests that might otherwise go unnoticed in their daily job tasks. Johnson says that these talents or skills are often things that her clients can do “with their eyes closed,” something they are great at and enjoy.

After unlocking this potential, Johnson empowers her clients to seek opportunities to use their skills to better their company – or branch out and pursue a business of their own.

“A lot of women that I have coached are successful in their careers, but they know that there is more to it than that,” Johnson says. “So, together we tap into – what is more? What can you do so well that you don’t think about it?”

She has helped numerous clients take on new responsibilities at work – with substantial pay raises – and for others, she has helped them realize that they can use their skills in different organizations or entirely new industries. It is all part of Johnson’s vision to be a guiding light to her clients.

“It is so exciting to help women pull all that together,” Johnson says. “Sometimes when you’re in the forest, you can’t see the trees.”

For women who want to make a change but have not yet determined exactly what direction they should take, Johnson offers a complimentary guide to get them started. Her e-book, Purposed to Lead – 7 Strategies to be Purpose Driven in your Career, has been made available to anyone looking to get started on the path to a more fulfilling career.

Johnson cautions potential clients that the road to success is rarely smooth – there will be obstacles and setbacks along the way. But if you are driven by purpose and willing to find creative solutions to overcome those obstacles, she can help you reach even your most audacious goals.

“One thing that I have learned is that even when our pursuits don’t go the way we want them to, whether it’s getting promoted or something like that, how we react is important,” Johnson says.

Leading women to unprecedented success – and giving them the tools to remain successful throughout their careers – has been a calling for Johnson. Because in the end, Johnson says, even the most successful career woman can benefit from a coach or mentor.

“We all need someone that we can talk to,” Johnson says. “Even heroes need heroes.”
