The New York Artist Shaking Up The Rap Scene: Moy Baun

Moy Baun

Moy Baun is a Dj turned rapper. He released a freestyle to commemorate his friend and received immense love from his neighborhood. Since then, he’s been perfecting his craft every day. By combining his two favorite genres, reggae, and hip hop, Moy Baun has been able to make a solid name for himself on the music scene.

Music is a form of therapy that has helped him through some of his most difficult moments and hopes to help others no matter what they are facing. Moy Baun’s creativity will keep him on a track headed to the top, where he plans to stay. With his consistency and dedication, he has amassed himself a following that grows day by day. The music video for his new single, “Chances,” is steadily gaining views on Youtube.
He spent most of his time growing up in Queens, “Jamaica,” New York. Growing up in Queens gave him a “go get it” mindset, meaning anything he wanted he worked endlessly to earn, and nothing was easily gained. Moy had to turn his dreams into reality.

A big part of it is focusing on the positive things that are in his life. Moy says that everyone goes through challenges in life, but it’s up to us on how we handle it. You can either complain about it or take action and create the life you want. He had to take a risk to go and make his dreams come true, and his success so far speaks for itself. This is what “Chances” is all about. Most of Moy Baun’s family still lives in Jamaica. He recently made a trip to Jamaica to visit his family he’s never met before. Moy loves going to Jamaica because he says, “the vibes there are unmatched, and there’s always good energy around.” The Jamaican culture has played a great role in Moy Baun’s music career. Moy looks up to many reggae legends; he was even able to get Sizzla to feature on one of his songs. Moy Baun’s ability to incorporate in both reggae and hip hop makes him a unique artist in the rap scene.
With his energy and unique style, he will soon be a household name for hip hop. Keep an eye out for Moy Baun on the music scene, because he’s here to stay!
