NBC SMG has always stood with the opinion of saving lives and making the world a better place. Part of our goal is to invest in improving society and to impact positively on the world. We have made it a duty to assist without discrimination, and endeavors, through international and national capacity, to prevent and alleviate human suffering wherever it may occur.

Till this present time, the world faces an immeasurable and unprecedented scale of disasters leading to the loss of thousands of lives each year. These disasters are caused by not only natural effects like Earthquakes, rains, hurricanes, and volcanic eruptions are some of the natural phenomena. But also by human factors like war, Fires, and chemical accidents, and other impacts on people and the destruction they generate which has led to poverty and vulnerability currently affecting thousands of children, men, and women.

As a socially responsible company, we owe it to humanity to reach out to areas and communities that are less privileged and affected by one disaster or another. We won’t install the idea that we are not just in business to make gains and profits, we are also constantly giving out to society and reaching out to humanities

In the past years, the devastating effects of disasters caused damages that amounted to an annual average of $67 Billion. And in 2020, the Covid-19 pandemic hit the world so hard that this amount stood at $500 Billion Worldwide. This is according to the data provided by World Bank and WHO.

In our quest to enhance society and the environment, NBC SMG created several Corporate Social Responsibility (CRS) projects and several humanitarian support schemes which reflect the importance of reducing the risk of disaster in all its forms.

With our projects, we want to achieve the following goals

1.       Reducing the number of deaths, injuries, and impact from disasters;

2.       Reducing the number of deaths, illnesses, and impact from diseases and public health emergencies;

3.       Increasing local community, civil society, and NBC SMG capacity to address the most urgent situations of vulnerability;

4.       Promoting respect for diversity and human dignity, and reducing intolerance, discrimination, and social exclusion.

Some of the projects include:

Priceless Gift of Sight

A CSR project we created to help restore hope to the countless number of people with impaired visions and sight. In the last 10 years, we have succeeded in helping over 20,000 persons restore their vision. The initiative behind this project is aimed at reducing avoidable blindness, predominantly cataract, among the rural area.

We have also done well to enhance the quality of living of over 200,000 people in remote areas around the communities we operate.

NBC SMG Financed Projects to help Train Youths to Various Vocational Skills

NBC SMG in partnership with various NGOs organized different youth training and empowerment projects to teach over 200,000 youths various vocational skills that would help them improve their society and create jobs.

Fight against Cancer: NBC SMG Supports WHO Corporate Challenge

With the desire to help patients suffering from cancer and to eradicate the sickness once-and-for-all which has seemingly brought humanity to its knees, we at NBC SMG are providing several financial support, and cancer awareness programs to help educate people around the world on how to live cancer-free.
