Nilladriz Shares Tips On Manipulation Photography

Nilladriz is a 20-year-old Photographer hailing from New Jersey. He is most known for photographing some of the biggest names in hip-hop like PnB Rock, Smokepurpp, and 6ix9ine. I recently had the chance to meet up and speak with Nilladriz to discuss a different style of his photography that’s been going viral via platforms like Pinterest and Instagram.

What inspired you to start shooting manipulation photography?

“They’re no limits or rules when it comes to this style. The freedom in shooting this style and the creativity involved in my opinion is unmatched in comparison to other forms of photography.”

Why do you appear in all of your manipulation photography?

“I like using myself in my effects not only for adding a personal touch to all my photos but because it’s also a great means of branding and familiarizing people with me.”

Where do you draw inspiration from for your photos?

“If it’s not from Pinterest boards it will usually just be from me going about my day. I’ll see something, a idea will come to me, and I’ll try my best to bring it to life. My best ideas have come to me at the most random times.”

How do you edit your photos?

“I start out in photoshop. That’s where I’ll alter the image and change it’s properties to create my desired product. I’ll then move the image over to Lightroom, where I change or adjust the colors present in the photo to enhance the overall theme or message I want.”

Any advice to someone who’s trying to venture off into this style of photography?

“Your gear and equipment are secondary to your imagination when shooting this form of photography.”
