Realtor Michelle Bigos Shows Why Upstate South Carolina Is a Great Retreat Place

Michelle Bigos is a passionate real estate agent based in South Carolina, USA. Her incredible journey from a corporate worker to an excellent real estate agent can be a source of inspiration for everyone. Read until the end to know more.
Michelle was born in New Hampshire, but she moved to South Carolina at the age of 18. According to her, “I instantly fell in love with the place and would not want to live anywhere else. I spent 28-years in corporate America, and I’m also a cancer survivor. After all those challenges, I finally have the job of my dreams! Everybody has their own timeline, and it is never too late!
Now, I have a wonderful son and daughter-in-law with a granddaughter on the way. I am active in animal rescue and have a soft spot for the sick and elderly of their kind. I currently have an elderly pug mix that is very spoiled. Lastly, my husband and I love eating delicious foods and traveling to new and exciting places!”
Michelle shared, “I am passionate about homeownership and its benefits. So often, potential clients are deterred by the complexities and legalities of purchasing their first South Carolina home. But I strive to explain all the nuances and make the experience memorable for all the right reasons. I love introducing someone to the area and all the things that make it so special.”
She mainly serves the area of upstate South Carolina, which is a beautiful historic and scenic area. Michelle recalled, “One of the first things that attracted me to this area was the beauty of the people. I challenge you to find a more friendly, welcoming place. Our temperate year-round climate, combined with stellar medical facilities, make this a wonderful place to put down roots or retreat to after working your whole life. For the outdoor enthusiast, sports abound with a host of challenging golf courses for all skill levels. We also have many annual races, such as the Mutt Strutt to support the Humane Society or Mountains to Main Street on the ever-popular Swamp Rabbit Trail. The upstate is a great spot for supporting the arts. You can visit, listen to the Greenville Symphony Orchestra, attend Broadway plays at the Peace Center, attend multiple festivals, including the nationally acclaimed Artisphere. There are 128 art galleries and 56 museums. The upstate is not slouching either when it comes to food. There’s an up-and-coming culinary scene here that represents cuisine from around the world as well as our southern classics. As a result, Greenville was named one of ‘America’s most Underrated Foodie Cities.’”
Michelle likes working with all buyers, but she specializes in relocations. She also loves working with first-time home buyers and people that wish to downsize and simplify. When asked about the status of the real estate market right now, she responded, “They say the best time to buy real estate was 5-years ago, and the second-best time is now. We have seen great investment returns. Very stable. How many other investments can boast the same solid results? In addition, interest rates have remained very low, making now the perfect time for homeownership or upgrading.”
Michelle shared some pieces of advice for first-time homebuyers; she said, “If you are looking to purchase or invest in upstate South Carolina, I would recommend a tour of the surrounding areas with a professional tour guide. It just so happens I have one I work with! The Chamber of Commerce is also a great place to start. Next, look at some local school reviews. These are often gems when trying to determine the nature of an area. Renting an Airbnb in the area can also help you investigate the local scene and culture. Finally, consider the amenities available, including arts, recreation, health, and dining.”
She continued, “Our office is a collaborative environment and includes attorneys, inspectors, pest control, financing partners, etc. This makes us a one-stop-shop. As a result, our clients get the best-integrated care. But of course, you can always select your own vendors if you have preferences.”
Michelle strives to make the home-buying process as stress-free as possible for her clients; they can expect her to bear the burden while making the transactions easy and pain-free for them.
