Basel Ismail is an entrepreneur, data scientist, and financial engineer. He is currently the CEO of Blockcircle, a blockchain data and intelligence provider that produces actionable on-chain metrics and tools for digital asset investors. Basel is also the founder and CEO of Biltmore Digital, a digital asset investment management and consulting company. 

He’s not a newcomer in the finance sector. His career includes executive roles at multinational companies such as Yahoo!, Scotiabank, Goldman Sachs, and American Express.

In addition, he has a proven track record in machine learning, artificial intelligence, data science, and their application in blockchain technology. 

Basel’s Outstanding Roots

Basel is the son of Palestinian refugees. While he is a well-traveled man, having lived on multiple continents, Basel is particularly grateful for what he calls, “Canada’s open immigration policies.” He began his career in Toronto, Canada, and most recently lived in New York City, United States to pursue a challenging technology leadership role at a top-tier investment management bank, and now currently lives in Phoenix, Arizona, with his wife and two boys. 

Other than that, Basel has quite an impressive academic background that has played a central role in his career. He has an MBA from Cornell University, an MS in Information Security and Risk Management from Norwich University, and a BComm in Computer Network Engineering from Ryerson University.
