Sunny Cowell Will Rise This Fall

It’s Always Sunny in Baltimore
With the October 7th release of her “Anthology of Love” project and her performance/celebration the following day, Sunny Cowell is poised to have a massive October. She is an accomplished musician and multi-instrumentalist and if she wasn’t busy enough, she also happens to be an attorney (“Business” is half of the “Music Business”, so I’m always happy when an artist knows the ins and outs of the game). She hails from Baltimore and is the daughter of Stanley Cowell, a Jazz Pianist, Composer, and New York City record label founder.
Cowell’s background influenced her to pursue a career in law and music; the person she is today is the consequence of careful preparation and a defining experience. Sharing the stage with her aforementioned legend of a father (both vocally and instrumentally) certainly played a role, and after her 2017 attendance at Grammy’s Salute to Music Legends event at the Beacon Theater in New York, Sunny knew she wanted to make the leap from “dabbling” to not delaying “pursuing a music career any further…”
Time to Fly
Despite going “all in” fairly recently, Sunny Cowell is already running up quite the impressive resume. She’s working hand in hand with some of Baltimore’s finest in TT The Artist and Mighty Mark, has received ever-evasive Editorial Playlist Placements from the likes of Spotify tastemakers, and was nominated for Best Artist of the Year from the Modern Soulful Music Awards. Cowell is also combining her professional talents and passions by way of teaching Electronic Media and Film Law and Regulation at Towson University.
The first three singles (“Nothing Else”, “Here With Me“, “Touch Me Now”) off Sunny Cowell’s “Anthology of Love” showcase her versatility and collaborative chemistry with the likes of TT The Artist and Mighty Mark. Each release is infectious (please do peep the visual stunner above) and just might expand your conception of what a Baltimore Club song can be. Clearly aware of the potential for their music, Sunny and crew are attempting something new, ambitious, and necessary to take Baltimore’s sound even further before the rest of the industry takes notice, see the likes of Chloe Bailey and Drake, whose album “Honestly, Nevermind” brought more international attention to the Baltimore Club (In Aubrey’s case, for better or worse depending on who you talk to). In light of all of the above, it feels like the perfect time for Sunny to arrive and then some.
Keep In Touch…
Be sure to keep up with the multi-talented, hardworking, and ever-evolving Sunny Cowell on Instagram; do not sleep on her work, and mark those calendars for what promises to be a massive October for one of Baltimore’s most promising (and currently tremendous) rising artists!
