The Antony Gordon Show is the “GPS for Life” We’ve Been Searching For

In life, we have the utter privilege of encountering someone who just glows. Not in the trendy, beauty industry way, but in a light-emitting, positivity spreading, and genuine force-of-good way. Such unique individuals are truly magnetic, and Antony Gordon is that person through and through. The multi-faceted Managing Director of MGO—one of the leading professional service firms in the U.S. covering sports, entertainment, and media—acts as a consultant and life coach for several prominent professional athletes and celebrities, all while maintaining his rank as one of the most sought-after motivational speakers in the Jewish world.

Inception of the Antony Gordon show

This past year Gordon’s worlds converged when Ben Shapiro introduced him to the President of Kast Media, and his namesake podcast was born. The Antony Gordon Show, which has received critical acclaim since its inception, takes pop-culture’s widespread misconceptions and dismantles them, countering the “Kool-Aid” with guidance, advice, and honest accounts from industry leaders in sports, entertainment, and everything in-between. The priceless gems of information are strategically encased in Gordon’s charismatic and humor-filled delivery, making for an irresistible combination.

A throwback into Gordon’s roots

As a self-made man Gordon’s early life in Johannesburg, South Africa consisted of hard work and determination to succeed, which was propelled by the gift of confidence from his mother, who let him “dream big.” This perfect cocktail of traits led to an entrepreneurial path in high school with the development of a news parody show, which ended up being a steppingstone to his participation in Rag Dynamics, a performance show, in college. Through that experience Gordon discovered the true power and importance of laughter and music as a tool, that he believes “transcends across culture, religion, and ethnic background,” and that in a divisive world it’s “a way to really unite people.” Although academia was of the utmost importance to the future Harvard law student, his time on the stage and the invaluable lessons learned helped uncover his true calling.
Just as in high school and in university, Gordon continued leaving his colorful mark on whatever environment he entered. From dipping his feet into organizing music festivals to serving as the class rep at Harvard, his exceptional people-skills propelled the budding businessman into collaborations and meetings with some of the most influential people in entertainment, at the mere age of 26. Following graduation Gordon was set to embark on a promising career as an entertainment lawyer—naturally. Yet, from all his major connections and time spent at celebrated institutions, it became clear that real wisdom—how to live a successful life—is not really being taught anywhere. After a few Hollywood events, the stark reality that those who seemingly “had it all” in the industry were sadly quite unhappy, hit hard.

The life changing moment

Around the same time, Gordon faced a daunting health scare, which all led him to take a serious pause for some soul-searching. He went to Israel to study at Aish Hatorah, where he found himself transformed by a particular phrase from the Rabbi, “if you understand who you really are, you will not be living your life reactively—easily swayed by what’s considered ‘cool’.” Infused with his own life motto that reads “we are not in the world to wait for the ‘storm to subside’… we are here to ‘dance in the rain,’ Gordon’s idea of a “GPS for life” was born. Starting out as a philosophy that guided his work at MGO and underscores many of his public lectures, it eventually evolved into the guiding principle of The Antony Gordon Show podcast.

The power of a connectivity through a podcast

Although Gordon was already making a positive impact through his life-coaching ventures and myriad public speaking engagements, he felt a calling to do more; to empower the next generation with tools for living a successful, productive, and happy life of purpose. This is the goal of The Antony Gordon Show podcast and it holds a heavy weight on the dynamic host—it’s his legacy. The podcast shares time-tested wisdom to inspire people to live wholesome and fulfilled lives, and it does so through real, honest conversations with thought leaders and prominent public figures in the industries where Gordon spent close to 30 years of his career—entertainment, media, and sports—creating truly life-changing dialogues. From highlighting how to overcome adversity, to a guest’s personal evolution of becoming comfortable with vulnerability, the discussions are brimming with meaningful guidance.

The most important thing is for the guests’ advice, and the episodes themselves, to share applicable lessons, a key differentiator in the oversaturated digital media space. Gordon’s impressive career and his robust network of influential and inspiring people without a doubt make for a compelling show, but it’s his innate ability to connect on a deeper level that draws out a guest’s true nature, and in turn brings an unparalleled authenticity to The Antony Gordon Show. His words of wisdom, and diverse guest list can be enjoyed via Spotify and iTunes.
