The Long Island Bulldogs Elite Basketball Club is Dedicated to Positively Changing Thousands of Children’s Lives!

Long Island Bulldogs Elite Basketball Club

Dr. St. Jean Jeudy is currently the President/CEO and Founder of the Long Island Bulldogs Elite Basketball Club, Inc. in Long Island, New York, where he lives with his wife and children. He has spent his life using his personal and career experiences to help disadvantaged children overcome the detrimental influences of poverty and achieve their full potential to become viable citizens. Dr. Jeudy also dedicated his life to providing them with the support they need when their life seems to be more than they can handle. While his focus is on prospective student-athletes, he also provides tutoring services for those struggling academically.

A strong educational foundation

Coming to the United States at age 33 in March 1994, Dr. Jeudy landed in Brooklyn, NY, with a wife and a five-year-old child. With no formal English, he entered John Jay College of Criminal Justice in the Fall of 1998 and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science Toxicology in 2004. Next, he earned a master’s degree from Walden University, and at the age of 58, he earned his Ph.D. in Health and Human Services from Walden University. His dissertation lured him to initiate The Long Island Bulldogs Elite Basketball Club, Inc., is a young organization founded the same year of his graduation in 2019. As a former Forensic Criminalist working for the Forensic Biology Dept. of the New York City’s Office of Chief Medical Examiner, Dr. Jeudy is now working for the United State Federal Government while giving back to his community by empowering disadvantaged and at-risk children. He is an avid researcher, focusing on the Psychosocial Consequences of Parental Wrongful Conviction on Children.

His organization’s mission

The Long Island Bulldogs Elite Basketball Club, Inc. (LIBEB) is a 501 c (3) community/charity-based organization providing extra-curricular activities to young children of the metropolitan area, including New York City, Long Island, and the Mid and Lower Hudson Valley in New York State. The LIBEB’s mission is to utilize the game of basketball as the vehicle to promote education and community service and reinforce academic, social, and family values. In Summer 2022, the L.I. Bulldogs’ student-athletes participated in a live event at the Peach State basketball tournaments, where they played in front of Division I NCAA college coaches. In addition, they played in Atlanta and Augusta, GA, in Rocky Mountain, NC, Louisville, KY, Westford, MS, Mayhem, PA, and in many other local tournaments, all at the expense of Dr. Jeudy from small business loans and personal funds.

Obstacles he faced and overcame

Perfection is the killer of creativity, vitality, and accidental discoveries. There are so many instances of people fortuitously discovering things we use every day. If they had been so concerned with perfection, they might never have enjoyed the success of their mistakes. Learning from our mistakes is how we develop and grow throughout our lives. Therefore, “perfect” will never provide a straight shot to success. How can you stop going for perfection? Just as it may have taken years of practice to “perfect” a skill you have acquired, it takes practice to undo perfectionism!
