The Prickly & Blooming Podcast – The Podcast Home For The Women of Texas

In today’s day and age, there are countless ways to distribute information. For the majority of the 21st century, the most common way has been through writing and more recently, videos. However, the past 5 years have seen a boom in the world of relaying thoughts, knowledge, and information through podcasting.
Podcasts offer the ideal experience for those who wish to listen and learn while on the move. There has been a notable increase in podcast demand in various places worldwide, encouraging bold individuals to try their hands.
One of the few who have taken podcasting from the ground up to recognizable levels, is Jessica Browning, an ambitious entrepreneur and adopted Texan. Raised in Massachusetts, Jessie pursued her education and attained a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications at UMASS Amherst. After her studies, Jessie moved to Austin, Texas, where she stayed for several years underemployed, spending most of her time drinking Miller High Life and eating taquitos. After some years, she met her husband, through Myspace, and after marriage, they moved to Marfa, Texas.
Both sharing a knack for entrepreneurship, the 27-year-olds started a laundromat together – and their entrepreneurial desires didn’t stop there. Proceeding to open another laundromat and three coffee shops, they have been able to support their now, family of 6.
Thanks to her understanding of communication, some of Jessie’s writing has been featured on ScaryMommy, where she shares a bit on the pandemic experience from a mother’s point of view.
In addition to running a business, taking care of her family, and blogging, Jessie is dedicated to her podcast. Prickly & Blooming is an engaging show that focuses on the women of Texas. Here, she talks about the Texas culture and societal aspects with a persuasive and conversational tone, whilst exclusively focusing on women. While she wasn’t born in Texas, she has lived there for 20 years and likes to share her take on what makes a Texan with her listeners. Jessie also hosts mini-sodes every so often to talk about a woman of Texas history.
She is now on her way to becoming the next podcast star, with her channel recently making it to the top five finalists of the Self Made LaunchpadOne podcast competition, which started from a whopping 148 shows. She is a prime example of what women can do when they commit themselves to their passion.
You don’t need a distinct educational background or technical expertise to start out; you can also create immersive podcasts for women with simply the proper focus and dedication. Jessie is currently focused on growing her audience and is creating personal connections using only her voice and creative ideology.
