Why The Waterfront Group Might Be The Team You Need To Grow Your Investment Portfolio

The Waterfront Group, of Wellington-Altus Private Wealth, is one of the top-rated advisory teams in Canada located in Burlington Ontario. Not only have they been nominated as one of the top advisors in Canada for alternative investments in 2020 by Wealth Professional magazine, but Dan Wynnyk and Lance McDonald have been on television and featured in top publications in Canada. The award is bestowed to the top investment advisors and getting nominated is not only a big achievement, but also a symbol that your investment is adding value to the clients.

Creating a brand in the industry

The first step in creating their brand was and is by outworking most people in their industry. The team is always working hard to serve the clients with the uttermost professionalism. They ensured that they walked the talk by delivering precisely what they were promising they would deliver. “You need to work harder and better for your clients every day. You need to be innovative and forward-thinking, not afraid to push back against those who would keep you and your clients pigeonholed.” Dan Wynnyk, Senior Vice President said in an exclusive interview.

Obstacles faced

Both Dan and Lance had to face significant obstacles in their journey (I.e. the stock market and human emotion) which helped both remain at the forefront of their day to day interactions with clients. “The stock market movement is out of our control and dealing with how people react to those movements, regardless of how those fluctuations affect them, can be a challenge. Each client will react differently, and each will feel pressure from all aspects of their lives to act. It can be difficult at first to handle, but that’s part of the job and a highly important part at that” says Lance McDonald.

Overcoming the obstacles

“The first thing towards overcoming an obstacle, is identifying the obstacle itself. You need to be able to see it from all sides and make the right call when coming up with a solution” says Dan Wynnyk. The Waterfront Group overcame challenges in the stock market by designing an investment portfolio that is not highly correlated to the index or its underlying influences. They found that with their design, human emotions can be more easily taken out of the process so that they can listen to the individuals’ concerns of their clients and guide them through difficult times.

Being the difference within an industry

Researching alternative investments (such as real estate, private investments, etc.) has helped The Waterfront Group stand out amongst the crowd and be the difference in the industry. Their investment portfolios are designed to accomplish the client’s goals and their extensive group of partners in fields such as accounting, law, real estate, health care, etc. are available to aid their clients by planning all aspects of their personal and financial lives.

In conclusion

Investing with a team like The Waterfront Group might be the only thing between you and success or between you and scaling your business higher. They have proven to be essential for anyone willing to consult on matters related to investing and growing their wealth.
