How Aspiring Artists Can Make It In The Music Industry According To Music Artist Neecy J

It’s no secret among established artists, those starting, and the public that having a career in the music industry is far from easy. Those involved with the industry not only need to keep up with the constant pressure of having to come up with new content, but they also have to face competition and criticism from their peers, the people they work with, and the audience

So how can artists involved in such a daunting industry and take their career to new heights? The answer, according to music artist Neecy J, lies in their mentality.

“They should focus on having a strong mind. This industry is not for the weak and you have to be able to block out the noise and the naysayers,” she offered.

Neecy J added that aspiring artists should also focus on having a great foundation, meaning having a small circle with people who they can trust and who believe in their craft 100 percent.

Making Her Dreams Come True

A native of the DMV area in Washington, D.C., Neecy J recently graduated with a Master’s Degree in Communications and Leadership. But there’s more to her than just her smarts as she is also a talented music artist.

Her passion and love for music started when she was a kid when she wrote songs. Eventually, she decided to pursue this dream and didn’t fall short in doing so.

“My single, ‘Big Tipper,’ has been hitting the scene hard as it peaks at 172 on the DRT Global Charts and 47 on the DRT Global Independent Charts,” Neecy J said.

This success has inspired Neecy J to further her career and share her sound with more people.

Working On Her EP

Seeing the feedback for her single, Neecy J is now eager to put out more music for her fans. As a result, she’s currently working on her EP titled “Supa Natural.”

“I want my EP to do big numbers and be the stepping stone to getting a record deal,” she said.

But releasing a successful EP and landing a record deal isn’t the goal that Neecy J has in mind. Her key goals as an artist are to elevate her career to a point where she becomes well-known yet unique from the others in the industry.

“I would want to be perceived as a young black educated music artist who does not fit the stereotype of how rappers are thought of,” she said.
