How This Company Has Optimized Performance With Recovery-Focused Sleep

One would think that in 2022 we would have mastered the art of a good night’s sleep. It is, after all, one of the most basic (and enjoyable!) human needs. While many companies have not realized the potential of creating products that enhance human sleep to their fullest potential, MOLECULE has been working hard to change the sleep game. The company focused so much on sleep technology and the science of sleep that world-famous athletes such as Tom Brady, Russell Wilson, Alex Morgan, and Michael Phelps invested and became ambassadors for the company.
Channing Chor, Co-Founder and COO of MOLECULE, spent almost two decades working in various leadership roles within the entertainment and sports industries before starting MOLECULE. “This career allowed me to work with numerous athletes and their agents, so I had a pretty good network,” he said.
“When our Co-Founder, Albert Oh, approached me with the idea of a new sleep company focused on optimizing performance, we knew that partnering with athletes would be a great way to get our message across in a crowded marketplace. I was able to solicit feedback on our concept and products from a few influential pro athletes and agents that I knew. The response was overwhelmingly positive and validated our concept.”
The Mission of MOLECULE At Its Core
At its core, MOLECULE’s mission is to create sleep products that can help anyone achieve recovery-focused sleep. “Whether you’re a pro athlete, a weekend warrior, an entrepreneur, or an exhausted parent, we all strive to perform at our best, and we can all benefit from the right type of sleep,” said Chor. “We want to help connect quality sleep and an active, high-performance lifestyle.”
The Most Significant Sleeping Issues We Face, According To MOLECULE
Despite sleeping a certain number of hours, not getting the correct type of sleep is the most significant sleeping issue we face, says Chor. “We all go through several sleep cycles throughout the night, and we spend a certain amount of time in each sleep stage,” he continued. “Within some stages, your body physically recovers at an increased rate. Many factors affect your sleep cycle, but one major factor is temperature control.”
Through the use of proprietary materials, construction and design, Molecule products can help regulate the micro-climate between a person and their sleep environment and maximize your recovery during sleep. Plus, he adds, “our products are also super comfortable!”
Chor’s Entrepreneurial Journey With MOLECULE
Chor contends that the most challenging part of his days is fulfilling all his entrepreneurial duties under immense time pressure and minimal resources. “As an entrepreneur, you’re involved in every aspect of a complicated business – from product development to customer service, from business development to supply chain management,” he said. “And almost nothing ever goes to plan!”
Amongst any pitfalls, there have been many rewarding aspects to Chor’s entrepreneurial journey with MOLECULE. He’s especially felt accomplished signing on his pro-athlete ambassadors and investors. He has also been instrumental in building a team that has been resilient through the crazy ups and downs of startup lives and continuing to hear positive feedback from customers who rave that they have never before slept better.
The Future of MOLECULE
MOLECULE was recently acquired by FXI, a leading producer of comfort innovation products, and has no intention of slowing down any time soon. “Fueled with more resources and experience, we will now be able to accelerate our product innovation and retail reach through a vertically integrated organization. I’m confident that MOLECULE will continue to stand out as a pioneer and leader in sleep space for many years to come.”
