Marko Savicevic: Switch To Simple Media—A Performance Marketing Team

Simple Media is a performance marketing team founded by Marko Savicevic (right) and Vukadin Zecevic (left). They help e-commerce businesses profitably scale their Facebook ads. The company was born out of dissatisfaction with traditional digital marketing agencies.

“E-commerce business owners have a lot on their plate,” shares Marko. “They have to deal with things like third-party logistics (3PLs), product samples, inventory, photographers, budgets, virtual assistants, testimonials, etc.

Plus, on top of all that, they have to deal with ad agencies who are not incentivized to bring them the best results. Even those who care about getting good results are not adequately trained and use outdated ad strategies for their clients.

Does it make sense to charge your clients a percentage of their ad spend? No! Of course, it doesn’t! How is that fair to the business owner? Sure, the owner can say don’t spend more than X if the return on ad spend isn’t Y, but we’ve even seen cases where the agency completely ignores that.

It’s disgusting, and it leaves a bad taste in the business owner’s mouth to a point where business owners are running away from agencies.

And I’d like to say it’s just a few bad apples who are making the whole industry rotten, but it looks much worse than that.”

“I completely agree…” adds Vukadin. “We’ve seen a significant shift in this space over the last few years. It looks like there are so many ad agencies today it’s too overwhelming for the owner to pick the right one. Most of our clients come from a background of overpromising agencies with below-average results.

I mean, how can you expect good results from an agency when the people who are working on your account are stuck in a 9-5? They’re chatting with friends, checking Instagram all day, and waiting for the next lunch break. Not only are they not incentivized to bring YOU—the business owner excellent results, but they are actively trying to figure out ways to work less.

Do you think they’re going home and working on their ad skills?, Learning about new strategies? Or trying to figure out what’s outdated and what’s not?

Of course, they’re not! They’re going home to their dog, their husband or wife, kids, and a bottle of cold beer.

And I’m not judging or saying this is wrong but just think about it for a second.

Why would someone who doesn’t get rewarded for their effort work harder? It makes zero sense.

And for the agency, it’s one client, more or less. No big deal.”

Below, Marko shares more about how Simple Media works with its clients.

“Vukadin and I believe that an ad company should charge their clients a percentage of their profits. That way, they are incentivized to work harder on your ad account and make you a ton of money. And I’m not just talking about making you more revenue but making you more profits as well.

After all, that’s what counts the most? Right? Profits. Not revenue.

Anyone can make a million bucks in revenue with $700.000 in ad spend and be in the red.

We believe that to achieve massive success with your e-commerce business; you have to be on the same page with your digital marketing team.

What better way to do that than to pay them a percentage of your profits?”

They believe that more and more agencies will take their path over the next few years and switch over to some kind of a profit share deal.

“It’s what works best, and there’s no running away from it,” says Vukadin.
