The Three Unusual Pillars Of An Efficient Team – Jason Elkin

Building the right team can make or break your business. See, if you have ordinary people working in a healthy atmosphere, they can produce extraordinary results. The first and most important pillar is equality. You need to give everyone, regardless of their sexuality, religion, or race, the opportunity to work hard and reach new heights within your company. In fact, in his company ATHENAWORKS, Jason Elkin made sure that everyone felt equal. As he explains, when you’re good at what you do, your religion, sexuality, gender, and race shouldn’t matter.

Diversity is the second pillar of an efficient team because it enhances creativity. When multiple points of view collaborate and collide, new ideas are created. Thus, diversity of thought is a necessary component of innovation. However, diversity alone doesn’t do the job; inclusion has a primary role in team building and employee satisfaction.

Building a diverse team is mandatory but making sure that everybody knows their worth is the “real deal.” Employees who feel included in their group will double their effort and output because the team starts to feel like family. That’s why inclusion, the third and final pillar, is the ultimate key to a successful team. When no one feels rejected because of their religion, sexuality, gender, or race — you can expect exponential growth.

“This isn’t just the right thing to do; it’s also a smarter way to build a better product or service,” says Jason. “Your audience and customer base are diverse. A team that reflects that diversity will only yield a better result.”
