Nathaniel The Great On A Million Spotify Streams & Musical Success

Nathaniel The Great

In the ever-bustling music industry, it is very difficult to create a name for yourself, especially in the age of digital streaming when artists have an all-access to various streaming platforms. In a recent interview with Nathaniel The Great, the musician with over a million Spotify streams, we discussed his journey to stardom and the challenges he faced on his journey.

Tell us a bit about yourself and how did you happen to be known as Nathaniel The Great?

Well, my actual name is Nathaniel, but as I begin to grow as an artist and businessman I evolved to “Nathaniel The Great”.

What sort of music do you create? In the very tough and rapidly growing music industry, how do you keep your music different from the other artists?

I started off creating only R&B. Over a period of time, I started to experiment with other genres. Now I record anything that I feel. What makes my music different is that I created from my own life experiences. There is only one Nathaniel The Great, so my stories will always be unique.

What are some of the pros and cons of working as a musician? How do you handle the challenges of being a musician?

The pro is the freedom of creative expression. The biggest con would be the competitive nature of the industry that we’re in. Sometimes it feels like a rat race and unfortunately, it’s not about talent anymore.

Which is the toughest piece of music you have ever created? How much time does it usually take to finish a project?

The toughest piece of music that I created was a song called “Never Been Black”. This song took me over a year to create. Every time there was an incident of police misconduct I added another line to the song. I recently finished it after the George Floyd incident. RIP to him, Breonna Taylor, and all of the others we lost.

You have got a million streams of Spotify. Any feelings on that?

The feeling of a million streams is incredible. It all started as a dream and to see it come true is unreal.

What can we see next from you?

Next, I will be releasing a new album exclusively on the Nathaniel App that I developed.

Where can we find your work? How can our audience connect with you?

You can find all of my content by downloading the “Nathaniel App”. You can go to the Appstore or iPhone or Android and search “Nathaniel”. Or you can go to my website to find it.
